Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

My childhood pastor, Dr. David Smith (who preached my ordination service in August), writes a email devotion a couple times each week. Having listened to his preaching many times, I can hear Dr. Smith’s voice when I read his messages. In his most recent email devotion, he reflected on the same scripture we looked at on Sunday from Luke 17 where Jesus heals the ten lepers. He included an illustration that is too good not to pass on to our church.

Smith writes about recently seeing a picture of “a set of stairs in Concord, Massachusetts. The steps are to be read from top to bottom. They read:

In a society that

Has you counting

Money, Pounds

Calories and steps

Be a rebel and

Count your blessings

Instead.”

We have so much to be thankful for here at PSBC. Remember your homework. Make a short list of three things you are thankful for everyday and spend some time this Thanksgiving Day reflecting.

God, I’m thankful for:

1.______________________________________________________________

2.______________________________________________________________

Grace and peace,
