Adults

Welcome to the Adult Ministry page of our website. Here you will find information on different programs and events designed to serve the adult population of PSBC. From Sunday school classes, to various Bible studies and small groups, there are many opportunities for folks to get spiritually fed in their walk with Christ.

Sunday School
Whether you are a man, woman, boy or girl, there is a Sunday school class for you. Through bible study, prayer and open discussion, you will learn more each and every week about God and His amazing love for us. We hope you will come join us every Sunday morning at 9:45 for Sunday school. If you are new to our church, please see a greeter at one of our entrances to find the class that is right for you.

Adult Bible Study
Our Adult Bible Study Group meets at 6:30 PM on Wednesday nights in the Small Dining Room of the Family Life Center. During this meeting, Our pastor and others lead the group in meaningful Bible study on a variety of texts and topics. Focused prayer is also a large part of this group’s activities as we pray for the needs of our church and community. Please consider joining us on Wednesday night to further your knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.

Women’s Missionary Union (WMU)
WMU is open to all women who want to serve God through mission opportunities. WMU meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Family Life Center. WMU leads PSBC in doing missions and giving to missions. WMU is also an opportunity for fellowship and learning what God is doing through local, state and foreign missions.

Baptist Men
The Baptist Men meet on the first Wednesday night of each month at 6:30 pm in the Family Life Center.   These men are involved in community projects to help those in need through home projects, lawn cutting, landscaping and other service oriented projects. The Baptist Men also help people within our community through fundraisers to raise money for those in need. They also sponsor work days at our church to help maintain the grounds and keep the buildings looking good.

James 2:22 “You see his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.”

Small Groups
From time to time, we strive to target a topic that is of special interest to various groups within our church and community. Small Group meetings are a great way to have open discussion with others about God’s views on our finances, marriages, how we parent and more. Through scripture, videos and open discussion of each other’s beliefs and experiences, we grow closer to God and each other in a non-threating, easy going atmosphere. Please watch our website and newsletter for upcoming Small Groups that may be of interest to you.

Triple L (L.L.L.)
The Triple L Club, which is an acronym for “Live Long and Like it” is the primary fellowship ministry for senior adults. The club, which elects its own officers and does its own annual planning, is open to all senior adult members of the congregation and , also, extends a welcome to older members of the community. The club has a monthly supper meeting which includes a wide variety of programs (fellowship, educational, and inspirational). Additionally they have regular outings for breakfast, lunch, or evening meals together. The members enjoy day trips, on the church bus, to many different spots around the immediate area, and occasional overnight or extended tours around local states, as well as, the greater country. The club members keep up with all the “goings-on” within the church and they often provide monetary encouragement, as well as physical support, to various projects within the church’s ministries.

Poplar Springs Church is a great place to “Live Long and Like It”!

Craft Ladies
The Craft Ladies are a group of ladies with a love of crafts such as sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet and other miscellaneous crafts. The craft items made by these dedicated women are used for shut-ins, Samaritan’s Purse and the WMU Scholarship Fund. The Craft Ladies meet every Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Mission House.

Deacon Family Ministry
The Deacons of Poplar Springs Baptist Church minister to the church congregation through the Family Ministry program. Each Deacon is assigned several families within our congregation in which to minister to through prayer, visitation, or physical help when called upon. Once per year, the Deacons also sponsor the Family Breakfast, where they prepare a breakfast feast for the church congregation on a Sunday Morning before Sunday School.

C.A.R.E. Ministry (Christians Actively Reaching Everyone)
This ministry meets weekly to pray for the needs of our church and those specific requests that are given on Sunday morning through our C.A.R.E. Cards.  The C.A.R.E. Ministry also sends cards to members with upcoming birthdays or to folks that need a word of encouragement.

Health Promotion Team
This team of dedicated medical professionals minister to the PSBC congregation by providing resources and advice concerning physical health and wellness.  This team is available before Sunday School on Sunday mornings for private discussion on health related issues and sponsors an on-site flu shot clinic in the fall.  If you would like to talk with one of our health care professionals you can find them…..
