Children

Welcome to Children’s Ministry at Poplar Springs! There are as many ways as there are kids to get involved here at Poplar Springs in our Children’s Ministry from RA’s, GA’s, Children’s choir, and Mini Missionaries on Wednesday nights to Sunday School, Children’s Church and summer camps.

One of our goals here at Poplar Springs is to provide ample opportunity for children to connect with fellow students, teachers, and staff as they begin to learn about what church is really about. We understand that the children are the future of the global Church…not just Poplar Springs.

Ensuring that our young ones are cared for and that they have ample opportunities to learn about God in a safe environment is extremely important to us.  While we do have a youth & children’s minister, most all of our Sunday and Wednesday activities are led by dedicated parents and adults who care deeply about our children.

**All adults working with children have undergone background checks to assure the safety of our kids.

The Little Folks Team provides a warm and safe atmosphere for newborns through 3 year olds during Sunday School and the Sunday morning worship time, as well as various special services. Nursery is also provided from 6:30-7:30 on Wednesday evenings (September through May) during children, youth and adult activities. During these times, our young eyes have a chance to play and fellowship with their peers, as well as be cared for by loving, caring adults from within our congregation.

During our morning worship service, 4 year olds through Kindergarten are welcome to attend Children’s Church. This group leaves prior to the sermon each Sunday.

Mini Missionaries, or M&M’s, is our 3 to 5 year olds class that meets every Wednesday night(September through May) from 6:30-7:30pm.  During this hour, our preschool and kindergarten kids enjoy music, crafts, snacks, and other activities while learning how they can do BIG things for God through missions.

Girls in action, or GAs, is our primary mission’s organization for girls from 1st-5th grade.  Our GAs meet every Wednesday night(September through May) from 6:30-7:30 to explor the various mission opportunities taking place around the world.  They are also given the chance to take part in local mission opportunities as well throughout the year.

Royal Ambassadors, or RAs, is our primary missions organization for boys from 1st to 5th Grade. The RAs meet on Wednesday nights (September through May) to learn about the various missions opportunities locally and around the world. They also have opportunities to pray for and give to various missionaries as they serve God.

Children’s choir meets every Wednesday evening from 5:30-6:30pm (September through May).  Open to all 1st-5th graders, children have the chance to learn about God’s promises through basic musical principles.  Throughout the year, children learn how to play musical instruments such as orff and handbells, and they have opportunities to work on various songs and musicals to present in worship.
