Shower Some Positivety

Shower Some Positivety

To say absence makes the heart grow fonder is inaccurate because it implies a need to get away from someone or something. That would not be a valid assessment of yesterday’s service. I never wanted in a million years to be away from my church family; though if I am honest, when this whole pandemic started the first weeks did seem like snow days. But after a week or two I was ready to get back to being with the folks and friends at good old PSBC. I do hope we will abide by the rules, stay well and continue gathering because “it dun me good!” I say this with one exception… if you are uncomfortable coming back and decide you need to stay home, be assured you are not being judged. There are those among us that have health difficulties we know nothing about. Stay home but know this… you are missed and be patient because eventually this season will end.

Make sure, as you deal with these unprecedented times, that you take the opportunity to shower some positivity, encouragement, and especially some gratitude in your daily walk “amongst” those you encounter. Today I want to say a little but about Gerry Poston. Gerry has been working tirelessly over the past months doing a tremendous work with TV preacher/ prima donna, yours truly. He has collaborated with Katherine and Nicole on everything from music, to live streaming the service, to locations beyond the sanctuary. Gerry and Katherine also produced an hour long music special which was broadcasted via our media outlets. The kicker is this… Gerry has a real job too! Gerry also has a family that I hope he sees occasionally. Heather, Eymilyn and Ransome thank you as well! My brother and his family watch our weekly service and he is very candid and honest in his assessments. He inquired one day about our services and who our technology person was and then said… “he’s really good!” Gerry consider this comment as the affirmation of many and you deserve our love and respect for working tirelessly to insure we have our weekly times of worship.

I couldn’t agree more… You are good… Thank you Gerry!

Let Gerry and the Poston’s know they are appreciated and find some other folks to thank as well. This could be a healthy remedy for those of us suffering from COVID fatigue. God bless you Poplar Springs and thank you.

Your grateful pastor… Andy O
