New Face in the Church

New Face in the Church

Hello, my name is Micah Roberts. I am going to be helping out Andy, Nicole, and Katherine this Fall for a course I am taking at Gardner-Webb. If you see me around feel free to come and talk to me. Here are a few things to know about me: I am currently working on my Master in Divinity for Pastoral Care and Counseling, I am from Greeneville, TN, just on the other side of the mountains, I graduated class of 2019 from Carson-Newman in Jefferson City, TN with a Bachelors in Religion, I have relatives who live around the Charlotte area, and I enjoy hiking, sports, and all kinds of outdoor activities. I look forward to getting to know all of you in my time here at Poplar Springs.

I would like to share a small message about the comfort we have in the Lord. With everything going on we have found ourselves in a place where we are uncomfortable. It seems like things may not get back to what we considered normal, but maybe that’s a good thing. I think sometimes God has to make us uncomfortable because we get so used to doing the same things over and over that we stop thinking about why we were even doing them in the first place. Everything we do we should do for the Lord, because He also has our best interest in mind. We may not always see it that way, but I have always found a deep comfort when I trust God with everything I have going on, especially that hard stuff. So, while we may find ourselves in uncomfortable times, we can know that God is there and we can always come to Him with our troubles and anxieties, knowing he will be there to comfort us. What issues are making you un- comfortable today? Bring them to God and let Him wrap you in His comforting arms.
