Cornerstone Commitment

Cornerstone Commitment

Yesterday morning during worship, we culminated our Cornerstone Campaign with a commitment Sunday where we asked everyone to commit to 3 more years of financial giving towards our building fund. A few things about this commitment:

1. If you turned in your commitment card during worship yesterday, thank you!

2. If you weren’t able to be here yesterday and would still like to submit a commitment card, there is still time!! You can come by the church to pick up or drop off your card. You can also bring it with you next Sunday as well.

3. All of the information from this commitment day is still being collected and recorded. We hope to be able to give you an update in the coming weeks.

If you had a chance to see our latest ‘staff video’ during worship or online yesterday, Andy and I made two comments during the opening of it that we meant wholeheartedly: “We are living the dream” and “We are so proud of this church”. Church family, I hope you understand the incredible place we find ourselves in at this point in our church’s history! Our church is growing…we have exceeded our giving goal for the past 3 years on our Cornerstone building….our kids ministry is busting at the seams on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights…and we were $11,000 ABOVE budget as of this past Sunday. Folks, this is simply unheard of for a church our size in the small town of Shelby, NC.

So what does this say about Poplar Springs?? It says that God is doing amazing things in and through our church and its people are choosing to return this faithfulness back to God. As your ministerial staff, this is incredible to watch. We are, indeed, living the ministry dream at Poplar Springs, and we are incredibly proud of how you are responding to the call of God. We have no doubt that the next 3 years holds just as much promise as the last, and we look forward to seeing what God does in and through our church in the future.

To God be the glory; great things HE has done!!
