Aaron Hinton began his pastoral ministry at Poplar Springs Baptist Church on August 1, 2023. Prior to PSBC, he served at Gardner-Webb University in various roles with Church Relations and the Christian Service Organization. Prior to Gardner-Webb, he served on full-time staff at Fort Caswell for six years after working on Caswell’s Summer Staff for four summers during college. Aaron quite literally grew up in the Baptist church as his dad and mom served in ministry for 42 years.
Hinton holds a BA in Communications from UNC-Chapel Hill and Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling from GWU. Aaron lives in Boiling Springs with his wife, Downey, their three children (Luke, James, and Rheece), and their dog, Waffles. The Hintons have been attending PSBC since 2016.
Rev. Hinton’s hope for Poplar Springs is for it to be a church that makes much of Jesus; building on John chapter 3, verse 30, “He must become greater; I (we) must become less.”
