Gratitude

Sunday was special—for me, my family, and for our church. What a great day and an incredible service. And that meal! We might have to bring that spread back more often.

As the special music said on Sunday, “All my words fall short, how could I express all my gratitude?….all that I have is a hallelujah.”

In his letter to the church at Philippi, Paul writes these words, “2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:2-6)

On Sunday, we officially began a new season for our church. I am so thankful for this church and the many ways you have supported me and my family as we begin this journey. Make no mistake, we begin this journey together. As Paul says in vs. 5, this is a “partnership in the Gospel.” It’s not just me…it’s not just Nicole, Katherine, and me…this is a partnership in Gospel that calls us all to join in and participate.

But this partnership, this new season, does not have a new mission or a new message. The message remains the same as it has since Jesus walked this earth: the Gospel. The good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose again. He defeated death and now there is no condemnation, but only everlasting joy. The Gospel has the power to change your life and the lives of everyone who hears it. The sweet message of hope, peace, purpose, salvation, and eternal life.

I am confident of this, that he who began a good work here at Poplar Springs will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

We hope you can join us this Sunday as we recap all the incredible things that happened in the life of our church over the course of this past summer.

With gratitude,

Aaron
