On Thanksgiving Day, the Shelby Mission Camp will be partnering with Local Churches in order to deliver Thanksgiving meals to our neighbors in need. We need faithful volunteers of all ages on the morning of November 28th to assist in the preparation and delivery of these meals!
When is it? The Meal Delivery will be taking place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 28th. Cooking will start that morning at 6:30 AM and all activities will be over by 1:00 PM
Where is it? The cooking and packing of meals will be at the Shelby Mission Camp. The address for the camp is: 302 Sharpton Drive, Shelby, NC 28152.
How do I get involved? Two different opportunities will be available that morning:
1. Cooking Team – Cooking will begin at 6:30am at the Mission Camp, Kitchen volunteers will be needed to help open cans, cook menu items, package meals, and clean. Activities for the cook team volunteers will be complete by 1:00pm. If you would like to serve, but are unable to volunteer the entire time, please give us a call and we can coordinate shifts for you?
2. Delivery Teams – If you have a vehicle, and would like to help deliver meals, this is the team for you! Delivery drivers will meet at the Shelby Mission Camp at 11:00am to receive their route sheets and get their cars loaded with meals. Once Loaded, the delivery teams will hit the road and start making their deliveries on a route that should take between 1 and 1.5 hours to complete, and all activities for delivery teams will be over by 1:00pm.
Contact the Poplar Springs Church Office to sign up to be involved.
