This past Sunday, we experienced our Children’s Musical entitled, Faith News. If you weren’t able to join us in person, or if you just need to experience it again, please visit our website or Facebook site to watch our children lead us in worship.
They did a fantastic job. We are very blessed in our church to have a thriving children’s music program. I am grateful to Katherine and her children’s choir team of adults who lead them so well. We are very fortunate.
I hope you heard the message of the children on Sunday. They reminded us of stories from the Old Testament and just how God moved in the lives of lots of people because of, and through, the faith of individual people. We heard about Moses, Noah, Esther, Abraham and Sarah…so many stories that speak to the faithful witness of people of the Old Testament. God used them in mighty ways to continue to redeem His people, His creation.
The theme song for the musical shared the musical’s title, Faith News. The children sang out:
Who’s in the heavenly headlines today?
Who will seek His face?
Who’s in the heavenly headlines today?
Who will walk in faith?
Our God is big, big, bigger than we could ever know!
Trust His faithfulness; He’ll never, never let you go.
His promises are true, true, true.
What He says He will do.
I hope we remember and reflect on that this week. The Bible is full of stories of faithful people. But even more importantly, it is the story of a faithful God. Psalm 117 is a simple Psalm that reminds us that the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
God is bigger than we could ever know. He will never let us go. His promises are true.
What He says, He will do.
It’s who He is. He is worthy of praise. Amen.
