Last evening’s Triple L fellowship here at Poplar Springs was a fun time of fellowship! The gathering of friends around the tables for food and games was a real joy – and more tables can be set up for more friends to come next time, so, y’all come!
After pizza, desserts, and conversation, we enjoyed several rounds of BINGO with prizes for the winners. As is often my luck in playing BINGO, I would get everything in proper order but at the wrong time – evidenced by the card pictured here where we were trying to form an “X” for BINGO, and I had two vertical BINGOs but never formed an “X.” Missed it by that much!
However, by the end of our playing, I actually did win one card and was proud of that, and everyone went away winners due to our enjoyable time together and a nice bag of sweets to boot. This is also the good news that is ours as Followers of Jesus – even if every play is not a winner, God promises us himself in the journey.
I was thankful for Nicole’s reminder in Sunday’s sermon that “God always does what he promises to do, viz. be there for us! Even when we fail, God still shows us his love and forgiveness.” This good news gives us the hope we need to face whatever life brings our way as Christ’s Followers in this world of ours.
In fact, as we look to the Bible the thought dawns on us, “BINGO! This is just what we need to hear!”:
B strong and take heart all you who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:24
I am the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6
N to all the world, go and preach this good news. Mark 16:15
G eneration after generation stands in awe and tells stories of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
O praise the greatness of our God. Deuteronomy 32:3
Yes, God always does what he promises to do! And, because of this good news, our souls are winners on our toughest days. Praise be to God!
In the Love of Jesus,
